So you bought a Cricut. Welcome!!! It is so much fun and not as overwhelming as you may think when you first slide it out of the box. Kids can easily use the Cricut machine, design space and materials. It’s basically press and go once you get the design techniques down and know what to do.
The hardest part of having a Cricut is narrowing down what to do! My daughter has played with and made Cricut crafts since elementary school. Now a freshly minted teen, she is using the Cricut design space to create her own T-shirts for special occasions and gifts for the grandparents and friends. Love it! It has brought her confidence in her abilities and she’s gained some new skills. Now she is teaching me!

Cricut crafts and project ideas are endless. Knowing what you plan to do before you pop up a new project in the Cricut design space can make the process easier and certainly faster. Remember to measure twice and cut once before turning on your Cricut machine and loading the materials.
We have yet to upgrade to the Cricut Maker, although we really want to and they have incredible sales on the machines a few times a year. We have the Cricut Explore 2 and have been able to cut felt, thin sheets of faux leather from the craft store and make everything from scarves to wallets and purses.
