As a VKZ Junior Journalist, you’re joining a group of young, talented writers eager to share stories that matter to kids and families in our community. This journey will help you sharpen your journalistic skills, from crafting articles to interviewing inspiring people, all while discovering your unique voice. Interested in signing up? What You Can Expect:
As part of the VKZ Junior Journalists, you’ll have a structured, supportive environment to learn and grow as a writer. Here’s what you can look forward to:
- Monthly Deadlines: All articles will be due on the 15th of each month, so you’ll have plenty of time to plan, write, and polish your pieces.
- Editorial Meetings: Once a month, you’ll meet with the Publisher and Editorial Board—either in person or via Zoom. These meetings will be a great opportunity to discuss your ideas, get feedback, and receive assignments for upcoming issues.
- Event Coverage: You may get the chance to attend press conferences or special events. When attending, you’ll represent VKZ Magazine, so be sure to wear your VKZ Lanyard and business card badge with pride!

As a Junior Journalist, your role is not just to follow instructions, but to bring your creativity and curiosity to the table. Here’s how you can contribute:
- Story Ideas: You’ll have the freedom to suggest topics that interest you, whether it’s covering a local event, interviewing someone in your community, or writing about a subject you’re passionate about.
- Research and Interviews: You’ll learn how to conduct research and interviews to gather the facts and stories that make your articles come to life.
