There are a few ways to get around the Las Vegas Strip for free and get some rest, but be prepared for trekking to and from the tram and across the many pedestrian bridges that pepper the 4.2-mile-long famed street. You can get around the Las Vegas Strip free by using the system of monorails and a few well-placed stops and pedestrian bridges. The three free tram lines run every 4-5 minutes and are provided by the casinos at no cost to you to help you get in and gamble, or rather enjoy the games, events, shows shopping and attractions.
Don’t confuse the free trams with the official Las Vegas Monorail system that runs parallel to the big hotels on the east side of the Las Vegas Strip. Mandalay Bay to Luxor to Excalibur Free Tram
There are free trams that operate on the Las Vegas Strip on the south end that are free and easy to use. They run between Mandalay Bay and Treasure Island on the West side of the famous Las Vegas Boulevard.
Located at the south end of the Las Vegas Strip, the Mandalay Bay to Luxor to Excalibur tram run every five minutes. If you pick up the tram at Mandalay Bay, you can get off at Excalibur and walk across the pedestrian bridge to New York-New York. You can also take the pedestrian bridge to cross the Strip and head over to the Tropicana.
Always check with the hotel to get the latest hours for the Las Vegas Strip free trams. They run 10 a.m. to midnight most days and may be closed mid-week. The tram is a great way to visit these shows:
- Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay
- Bodies or Titanic the Exhibit at Luxor
- Tournament of Kings at Excalibur (which also has a great arcade)
Bellagio to Aria to Park MGM Free Tram
The clean, roomy cars of this tram pick you up at Park MGM close to the Aria entrance. It makes a stop at Crystals Shopping mall near The Cosmopolitan before heading to the Bellagio, where it drops you at the South Tower. At Bellagio, take the pedestrian bridge or the elevators to get inside the Bellagio. The tram runs every seven to 10 minutes along this route, with a stop at Vdara Hotel on the way back to the Park MGM.
Always check with the hotel to get the latest hours for the Las Vegas Strip free trams. They run 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. unless there is a special event, in which case they run to 11 p.m. The tram is a great way to visit incredible shopping and restaurants.
Mirage to Treasure Island Free Tram
Quick and easy, this tram runs between both hotels with no stops. It’s a breeze to jump on and get off at Treasure Island and cross the street to the sprawling Fashion Show Mall or cross over the pedestrian bridge to Wynn Hotels. You can also check out the volcano in front of The Mirage while it is still there.
Las Vegas Monorail Map and Schedule
The Las Vegas Monorail connects several major hotels and attractions along the Las Vegas Strip, making it a convenient option for tourists and visitors to travel between various destinations. It provides a quick and efficient way to move along the Strip without dealing with the congestion of street traffic. The single-track monorail runs along the east side of the Las Vegas Strip. It is not a traditional citywide monorail system but rather a specific route serving the resort corridor.
Train Hours of Operation:
The Las Vegas Monorail will operate 24 hours per day beginning at 7 a.m., Tuesday November 14 through 3 a.m. Monday, November 20, 2023.
