Visit the Aviation Museum at the Harry Reid International Airport
The Howard Cannon Aviation Museum is as entertaining as it is educational. The museum’s displays are situated across the airports in the Clark County airport system, featuring the main Google Maps exhibit on Level 2 above Baggage Claim in Terminal 1 at LAS. Spanning approximately 3,000 square feet, these exhibits delve into the extensive aviation history of Southern Nevada. Additional displays can be found in the gate areas, along the moving walkway to the C gates, in the walkway connecting the B and C Concourses, as well as at Henderson Executive and North Las Vegas airports.
Look up at the north end of Baggage Claim in Terminal 1 and you will see a 1958 Cessna 172 hanging from the ceiling. In 1959, a 1958 Cessna 172 set the World Endurance Aloft flying record, remaining airborne for 64 days, 22 hours, 19 minutes, and 5 seconds without landing. Piloted by Robert Timm and John Cook, this remarkable achievement still holds as a record today. The flight was sponsored by the Hacienda Hotel and Casino as a fundraiser for the Damon Runyon Cancer Fund.
Art at the Las Vegas Airport
Throughout the Harry Reid International airport, there are numerous art pieces by internationally acclaimed artists as well as Clark County middle school children. A full list and map is here.
The airport features both permanent and rotating exhibits, showcasing a variety of artistic styles and mediums. These exhibits include sculptures, paintings, murals, photographs, and other visual artworks.
Art installations can be found throughout the airport terminals, including in public spaces such as concourses, gate areas, ticketing halls, and baggage claim areas. The artworks are strategically placed to be accessible to passengers as they move through the airport.
Walking the Harry Reid International Airport

Fly Fit, endorsed by the American College of Sports Medicine, promotes airport fitness by providing travelers with convenient walking paths throughout the airport terminals. You can walk a mile or more by following one of the routes on the overview map. The paths range from approximately half a mile to 1.5 miles in length and are located in both secure and non-secure areas.
Please note that luggage storage is not available at the airport, so you’ll need to take your carry-on bag with you on your walk.

Vegas Mom Tip: Don’t Overpay for a Ride from the Airport!
Skip the pricey cab offers right out of arrivals—some drivers may shout “$55 to Bellagio!” (true story!). Instead, after you exit baggage claim, turn left and walk just a couple hundred yards. Look for a pillar with the official rideshare sign—you can’t miss it!
There, a staff member will direct you to the correct numbered pickup zone. It’s easy, organized, and way more affordable than getting “tourist trapped” the moment you land.
